This Quick Spiked Apple Cider Halloween Sangria is the perfect party punch that comes together in under 5 minutes. Made with simple ingredients like apple cider, bourbon, and fresh fruit, it’s a spooky, delicious drink that will impress your guests without any fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (960 ml) apple cider
  • 1 cup (240 ml) bourbon or brandy
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) orange liqueur (like Triple Sec or Cointreau)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) fresh orange juice
  • 2 cups (480 ml) ginger ale or lemon-lime soda
  • 1 large apple (any variety), thinly sliced or cubed
  • 1 medium orange, cut into thin rounds or half-moons
  • 23 cinnamon sticks
  • 23 star anise pods (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your fruit: Wash the apple and orange. Cut the apple into thin slices or small cubes. Cut the orange into thin rounds, then cut those rounds in half to make half-moons. Remove any seeds from the orange slices.
  2. Build the base in the pitcher: In a large pitcher, combine the apple cider, bourbon (or brandy), orange liqueur, and fresh orange juice. Stir to combine.
  3. Add the fruit and spices: Add the sliced apple, orange pieces, cinnamon sticks, and star anise pods (if using). Stir gently.
  4. Chill (optional but recommended): Refrigerate the pitcher for 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  5. Add the fizz and ice: Just before serving, pour in the ginger ale or lemon-lime soda. Stir gently. Fill the pitcher with ice.
  6. Serve: Pour into glasses or mason jars, ensuring each serving gets some fruit and a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, skip the bourbon and orange liqueur and use 4 cups of ginger ale or spiced apple cider. Add a splash of vanilla extract for warmth. To keep the sangria from getting watery, add ice just before serving or use frozen apple cider cubes. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days, but strain out the fruit first and add fresh ginger ale when serving again.
