A quick and easy sheet pan salmon recipe featuring a sticky honey garlic glaze paired with tender, crunchy sesame bok choy. Perfect for busy weeknights, this dish is flavorful, healthy, and requires minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 ounces (170 grams) each
  • 2 tablespoons honey (raw or wildflower preferred)
  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 8 ounces bok choy, halved or quartered
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or neutral oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and grated ginger if using.
  3. Lightly oil a rimmed baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  4. Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the baking sheet, spaced evenly.
  5. Toss bok choy with olive oil, black pepper, and a pinch of salt, then arrange alongside the salmon, cut side down.
  6. Brush the honey garlic glaze generously over the salmon fillets and pour any leftover glaze over the bok choy.
  7. Roast in the oven for 12-15 minutes, checking after 12 minutes for doneness; salmon should flake easily but remain moist.
  8. While salmon roasts, dry-toast sesame seeds in a small skillet over medium heat until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  9. Remove salmon and bok choy from oven, then sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the top.
  10. Serve warm with pan juices spooned over the salmon and bok choy.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before glazing to help the glaze stick better. Use skin-on fillets for moist, crispy texture. Brush glaze right before baking to prevent burning. If salmon browns too fast, tent loosely with foil. Do not overcrowd the pan to allow bok choy to steam and crisp properly. For extra char, broil salmon for 1-2 minutes at the end, watching closely.
