These Quick Cranberry Vodka Christmas Jello Shots are a festive, tart, and sweet holiday treat that’s ridiculously easy to make. Perfect for parties, they combine cranberry juice, vodka, and jello for a crowd-pleasing shot that looks like a tiny jewel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cranberry juice (100% juice, not cocktail blend)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 box (3 oz) cranberry or raspberry jello
  • 1/2 cup vodka (mid-range, like Tito’s or Smirnoff)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional)
  • Fresh cranberries for garnish (about 12-15 berries)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)
  • Edible glitter or sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the water. Bring 1 cup of water to a rolling boil in a saucepan. While it’s heating, arrange your shot cups on a baking sheet or tray.
  2. Dissolve the jello. Pour the entire box of jello powder into a large mixing bowl. Add the 1 cup of boiling water and whisk vigorously for at least 2 minutes until the powder is completely dissolved.
  3. Add the cranberry juice and lime juice. Whisk in 1 cup of cranberry juice and 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice (if using).
  4. Cool the mixture. Let the mixture sit at room temperature for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lukewarm.
  5. Add the vodka. Pour in 1/2 cup of vodka and whisk gently until fully combined.
  6. Prepare the cups. If using fresh cranberries as garnish, drop 1-2 berries into the bottom of each shot cup.
  7. Fill the cups. Carefully pour the jello mixture into each cup, filling them about 3/4 full.
  8. Chill and set. Transfer the baking sheet with the filled cups to the refrigerator. Let them set for at least 4 hours, but overnight is best.
  9. Add garnishes. Once the shots are fully set, add your garnishes. Press a small rosemary sprig into the top of each shot, or sprinkle with edible glitter.
  10. Serve and enjoy. Keep the shots refrigerated until just before serving. Arrange them on a platter with extra cranberries and rosemary sprigs.

Notes

Let the jello mixture cool to lukewarm before adding vodka to prevent alcohol evaporation. Whisk jello powder into boiling water for a full 2 minutes to avoid grainy shots. Use a level surface for chilling to ensure even setting. Shots are best made the night before for perfect texture.
