This Quick Caramel Apple Sangria with Cinnamon Whiskey is a simple, 10-minute fall drink that combines crisp apple, buttery caramel, and warm cinnamon whiskey for a cozy, crowd-pleasing beverage. Perfect for gatherings or a quiet night in, it’s sweet, tart, and boozy with a beautiful golden hue.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1 cup apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon whiskey (e.g., Fireball or Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire)
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (thick, like Häagen-Dazs)
  • 2 medium apples (mix of Honeycrisp and Granny Smith)
  • 1 lemon (juice and slices for garnish)
  • Optional garnishes: cinnamon sticks, star anise, fresh rosemary sprigs

Instructions

  1. Prep the fruit (5 minutes): Wash apples and cut into thin slices or small wedges (about 1/4 inch thick). Place in the bottom of a large pitcher. Squeeze juice of half a lemon over apples and toss gently to coat. Slice remaining lemon half into thin rounds for garnish.
  2. Add the caramel (1 minute): Drizzle caramel sauce over apples in the pitcher. Do not stir yet. If caramel is too thick, microwave for 10 seconds to loosen.
  3. Pour in the liquids (2 minutes): Add apple cider, then cinnamon whiskey, then white wine. Pour wine slowly to avoid disturbing the caramel too much.
  4. Stir gently (30 seconds): Use a long-handled spoon to stir slowly and gently, creating caramel swirls. The color should be warm golden brown.
  5. Chill (at least 30 minutes): Cover pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (2 hours is better) to let flavors meld.
  6. Serve (2 minutes): Fill glasses with ice. Give sangria a final gentle stir, then pour over ice, including apple slices. Garnish with lemon rounds, cinnamon sticks, or rosemary sprigs. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best flavor, use a dry white wine to balance sweetness. Don’t skip the lemon juice—it prevents apple browning. Adjust whiskey to taste (1/4 to 3/4 cup). Sangria improves overnight; make ahead for parties. For non-alcoholic version, omit wine and whiskey, double apple cider, and add sparkling water before serving.
