Lighter Spooky Sriracha Spiderweb Deviled Eggs - featured image

These lighter deviled eggs feature a creamy, smoky sriracha filling with a dramatic spiderweb design, perfect for Halloween parties. Made with Greek yogurt instead of heavy mayo, they’re healthier without sacrificing flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • Ice water bath
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons black sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a single layer in a large pot and cover with cold water by about an inch. Add the white vinegar. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Once boiling, cover the pot and remove from heat. Let sit for exactly 10 minutes. Prepare an ice water bath.
  3. Transfer eggs to the ice bath using a slotted spoon. Let cool completely, about 5 minutes.
  4. Peel the eggs under cold running water. Pat dry with paper towels.
  5. Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Gently pop out the yolks into a mixing bowl. Arrange the whites on a serving platter, cut-side up.
  6. Mash the yolks with a fork until crumbly. Add Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, sriracha, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  7. Spoon the filling into a piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip off about 1/2 inch from the corner. Pipe the filling into each egg white, mounding slightly above the edge.
  8. For the spiderweb design: In a small bowl, mix black sesame seeds with 1 tablespoon sriracha to form a paste. Transfer to a squeeze bottle or small zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped. Drizzle a spiral pattern on each filled egg, starting from the center and working outward.
  9. Create the web effect: Using a toothpick or skewer, gently drag from the center of each spiral outward to the edge, then from the edge back toward the center between each spoke. Wipe the toothpick clean between eggs.
  10. Finish with a light sprinkle of smoked paprika over the top. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use eggs that are at least a week old for easier peeling. For a milder version, use 1 tablespoon sriracha. The spiderweb pattern takes practice; gentle, steady strokes are key. Make these a few hours ahead for best flavor.
