These turkey meatball sliders are the ultimate crowd-pleaser for Friendsgiving. They’re quick, easy, and made with simple ingredients, perfect for a casual gathering where everyone can mingle and eat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey (93/7 lean)
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs (Italian-style preferred)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 12 slider buns (Martin’s Potato Rolls recommended)
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (low-moisture, part-skim)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, beaten egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and milk. Mix with your hands until just combined; do not overmix.
  3. Roll the mixture into 12 equal-sized balls, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 12-15 minutes, until cooked through and lightly browned (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
  5. While the meatballs bake, slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a 9×13-inch baking dish or on a rimmed baking sheet, cut side up.
  6. Warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until hot.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, place one meatball on each bottom bun half. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of warm marinara over each meatball. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over the top. Place the top buns on.
  8. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder. Brush this mixture over the top buns. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are golden brown.
  10. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

To prevent sogginess, toast the bottom buns under the broiler for 1-2 minutes before assembling. Use low-moisture mozzarella instead of fresh to avoid watery sliders. For gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and buns. For dairy-free, use nutritional yeast, dairy-free milk, and dairy-free cheese.
