A light and easy charcuterie board for two, perfect for a romantic night in. It’s about intention, not abundance, with a few perfect ingredients that let each flavor shine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz (115g) Brie or Camembert
  • 4 oz (115g) Aged Cheddar or Manchego
  • 4 oz (115g) Prosciutto di Parma, thinly sliced
  • 2 oz (55g) Genoa Salami, sliced
  • 1/2 cup (75g) fresh grapes (red or green)
  • 1 small apple or pear, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or fig jam
  • 1/4 cup (30g) mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1/4 cup (30g) good quality crackers or crostini
  • 1/4 cup (40g) cornichons or small pickles (optional)
  • A small handful of fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove brie from refrigerator 15-20 minutes before starting to bring to room temperature. Slice aged cheddar or manchego into thin, bite-sized triangles or rectangles. Place whole brie on board or cut in half to expose creamy center.
  2. Fold prosciutto slices into loose ribbons or waves. Slice genoa salami into thin rounds, then fold each round in half, then in half again to create little triangles.
  3. Rinse grapes and pat dry. Cut apple or pear into thin slices. Optionally toss apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning.
  4. Place small bowls or ramekins on board. Fill one with honey or fig jam, another with nuts. Place cheese on board first, then arrange meat near cheese.
  5. Fill empty spaces with grapes in small clusters, apple slices in a fan shape, and cornichons if using. Arrange crackers around edges of board, leaning against cheese or meat.
  6. Drizzle honey over brie. Sprinkle fresh herbs over top. Serve immediately with small plates, napkins, and wine or sparkling water.

Notes

For best flavor, bring cheese to room temperature before serving. Don’t overcrowd the board; leave some empty space for a rustic look. Prep ingredients ahead of time to reduce stress on date night.
