This Easy Baked Buffalo Chicken Dip is the ultimate crowd-pleaser for game day, potlucks, or any gathering. With simple ingredients like cream cheese, hot sauce, and shredded chicken, it comes together in under 30 minutes and always disappears fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2–3 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Let cream cheese soften at room temperature for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Shred cooked chicken into small, bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese and hot sauce. Mix with a hand mixer or wooden spoon until smooth and uniform.
  4. Stir in ranch dressing, 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, and all mozzarella cheese until well incorporated.
  5. Fold in shredded chicken until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer mixture to an ungreased 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish and spread into an even layer.
  7. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup cheddar cheese over the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until hot and bubbly and top is lightly golden. For deeper color, broil 1-2 minutes at the end.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve warm with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crusty bread.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and shred cheese from a block. Warm hot sauce slightly before mixing to ensure smooth blending. Dip can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated; add 5-10 minutes to baking time if starting cold.
