A quick and easy homemade snack featuring crispy pita chips coated with cinnamon sugar, made perfectly in the air fryer for a sweet and crunchy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large pita pockets (whole wheat or regular white)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cut each pita pocket into 8 triangles by halving it, then cutting each half into quarters. Separate the two layers inside if possible.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir well.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. Lightly coat each pita triangle with melted butter using a pastry brush or fingers.
  4. Toss the buttered pita chips gently in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3 minutes. Place pita chips in a single layer in the basket without overcrowding.
  6. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  7. Transfer chips to a wire rack to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

Separate pita layers for lighter, crispier chips. Use fresh cinnamon for best flavor. Avoid over-buttering to prevent sogginess. Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Chips stay crisp for 2-3 days stored in an airtight container. Can freeze prepared chips and air fry from frozen with extra 1-2 minutes cooking time.
