This creamy, cheesy queso dip is topped with a sour cream spiderweb for a spooky Halloween presentation. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s the perfect last-minute party snack or cozy night-in treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (16 oz) Velveeta cheese, cubed
  • 1 can (10 oz) Ro-Tel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies, undrained
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk or half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sour cream

Instructions

  1. Cube the Velveeta into rough 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine cubed Velveeta, undrained Ro-Tel, milk, cumin, and garlic powder. Stir frequently.
  3. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring often, until the cheese is fully melted and the mixture is smooth and pourable. Add a splash more milk if too thick.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Pour the hot queso into a serving bowl.
  6. Fill a squeeze bottle or small ziplock bag with sour cream. Starting from the center, pipe a spiral of sour cream outward to the edge of the bowl.
  7. Using a toothpick or knife, gently drag lines from the center outward (like spokes) and then from the outer edge back toward the center, curving slightly to create a web pattern.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, let the queso cool slightly before piping the sour cream web so it holds its shape. Use a toothpick for precise web lines. If making ahead, prepare the queso base and reheat gently; add the spiderweb just before serving.
