These individual charcuterie cups are a festive, no-cook appetizer perfect for Christmas Eve. Each cup is a balanced bite of prosciutto, brie, sharp cheddar, dried cranberries, nuts, and a touch of fig jam, all served in a portable mason jar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 100g (3.5 oz) prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 100g (3.5 oz) hard cheese (sharp cheddar or aged gouda), cut into small cubes
  • 100g (3.5 oz) soft cheese (brie or camembert), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 50g (1.75 oz) dried cranberries
  • 50g (1.75 oz) mixed nuts (roasted almonds and pecans)
  • 2 tablespoons fig jam or honey
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
  • 30g (1 oz) pomegranate seeds (optional)
  • Mini pretzel twists or crostini for serving

Instructions

  1. Place 6 to 8 small cups or mason jars on a clean work surface.
  2. Add a few small pieces of brie or camembert to the bottom of each cup (about 15g / 0.5 oz per cup).
  3. Layer a few cubes of sharp cheddar or gouda on top of the soft cheese (about 15g / 0.5 oz per cup).
  4. Fold or scrunch a slice of prosciutto loosely and place it in the cup (1-2 slices per cup).
  5. Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of dried cranberries into each cup.
  6. Add about 1 tablespoon of mixed nuts to each cup.
  7. Dollop about 1/2 teaspoon of fig jam or honey on top of the ingredients in each cup.
  8. Garnish each cup with a small sprig of rosemary and a few pomegranate seeds (if using).
  9. Tuck a mini pretzel twist or crostini into the side of each cup.
  10. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. If chilled, let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, let cheese come to room temperature for 30 minutes before assembling. Don’t overfill cups; fill about three-quarters full. Add pretzels or crostini just before serving to keep them crunchy. For a vegetarian version, omit the prosciutto and double the cheese and nuts.
